VICKI SMITH – Financial Controller

According to my official title, I am the “Accounts Manager”. This involves a lot of hands-on work ensuring that the financial records are accurate and reports are delivered on time.

I am also responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the office and all administration.  As we are an evolving organisation, this position will adapt to meet changing needs from both within and outside Southland disAbility Enterprises Ltd.

Coming from a chartered accountancy background, starting at SDE was a complete change.  I went from working in a relatively sterile environment to one with a “family” atmosphere.

The thing I like most about working at SDE is that no two days are the same. The workers are so genuine, you always know where you stand with them, and I really like the fact that they are treated like anyone else and not as “special” and they are encouraged to see their disability as an ability when it comes to getting the job done.

My husband and I own a small farmlet on which we have planted 1½ acres (and getting bigger) of predominately native garden, so my leisure time is spent between this and time with family and grandchildren.     vicki@sde.org.nz

LYNETTE MOIR – Accounts Clerk

My name is Lynnette but everyone calls me Lynn. My position involves creditors and debtors invoicing, paying and receiving accounts, as well as payroll and general office duties.

I have recently returned from twenty seven years living in Melbourne, Australia.  My parents are in Invercargill, and I thought that it was about time to come back.  I have three children: Matthew is 25 and lives in Melbourne, Andrew is 22 and in Darwin with the Australian Defence Force, and Sarah is 17 and in her final year at high school here in Invercargill.

I enjoy walking and try to walk about five kilometres each day with my daughter and our dogs. I also enjoy a good book if the weather is not so good.   lynn@sde.org.nz
