STEPHEN CARTER - TIwaI RespIrator ServIcIng SupervIsor

Stephen has been running a team at TiwaI since April 1999, during which he and his staff of five have been responsible for ensuring that the Breathing Equipment used by the smelter staff on site are fit for use.

A Southlander born and bred, Stephen was a civil servant with the Post Office until the widespread redundancies in 1988.  He then made the decision to spend six months in the UK and Europe, having a belated O.E, which extended to seven years.

Stephen's interests include dining out, Motor Racing (in which he competed for fourteen years prior to his O.E.), and travelling to different parts of New Zealand.  Stephen believes that New Zealand is the best place in the world in which to live, as it is where Anne, his English-born late wife, and he spent the happiest years of her life.
